Locations
A location is how e-bon models the physical places where your business operates. Every fiscal device, every receipt and every report is tied to a location, so the Portal can group your activity the same way your business actually runs.
Understand what a location is
A location is one physical shop, branch, restaurant or office. Most businesses start with a single location and add more as they grow — there is no extra cost for creating additional locations on any plan, even during the free trial. Once you have at least one location, you can register fiscal devices to it and start issuing receipts.
Add your first location
Open Settings → Locations
From the Portal sidebar open Settings, then select Locations. The list shows every location your organization currently has, with the option to add a new one in the top right.
Enter name and address
Locations only need two fields: a name (up to 255 characters) and a full street address (up to 500 characters). Both are required. Pick a name a colleague would immediately recognize — for example Bucharest — Unirii — because the same name appears next to every device, receipt and report from this location.
Save
Save the form. The location is created instantly and is now ready to receive devices. You can edit either field at any time without affecting the devices already registered to it.
Edit or delete a location
Open any location from the list to update its name or address — both fields are independently editable, and changes take effect immediately for every device, receipt and report attached to it.
- Edit updates only the fields you change; the rest stay the same.
- Delete is allowed only when no devices are still registered to the location. If devices are present, the Portal asks you to reassign them to another location first, so no device is ever orphaned.
- Renaming a location does not break any historical receipt — past reports continue to display the name that was active when they were issued.
Monitor multiple locations from the dashboard
When you operate more than one location, the dashboard shows sales, uptime and alerts side by side for every shop. You can spot a location with lower sales or a device with repeated issues without opening each one in turn.
Filters in Receipts and Reports let you narrow down to a single location when you need to focus, or step back to see the whole business at once. Alerts are grouped by location too, so an offline device or a missed Z report is immediately attributed to the right shop.
Assign devices to locations
Every fiscal device in e-bon belongs to exactly one location. From the Devices page you can move a device between locations at any time — just change the assignment, no reconfiguration needed. Receipts, reports and alerts then follow the device's new location automatically.
Each device registered to a location reports its own fiscal serial number; you will see it on the device detail page together with its current status and last activity.
Grant access by location (managers & accountants)
You can invite shop managers and limit their access to a single location, so each manager sees only their own shop while you keep the full overview. Accountants can be granted read-only access across all locations, which keeps every report one click away for them without giving them write access to operational settings.
Per-manager-per-location access is part of the Business and Enterprise plans. Owners always see every location regardless of plan.
Check plan availability
Any plan — including the free trial — can have as many locations as you need. Scoped per-manager access (limiting a teammate to a specific location) is the feature that requires Business or Enterprise; on the free and Starter tiers every invited user sees the whole organization.
