The Settings tab is where you check what the app knows about itself and where you take a few quick actions: sign in to or out of the cloud, switch language, change the active location, or check the app version and network state. Cloud sign-in is optional — the app works fully standalone, and this tab is the only place where you opt in.

Sign in to the cloud (when signed out)

When nobody is signed in, the Account group's first row is Sign in to cloud. Tapping it opens the sign-in form right inside Settings — there is no separate sign-in screen and no first-launch gate. Enter the email and password from your e-bon.ro account and tap Sign In.

On success the form closes and the Account group switches to the signed-in view (see below). In the background the app links every printer and receipt that already existed on this device to your organization — nothing on the device is lost or duplicated.

The full sign-in flow, including what cloud sign-in adds on top of standalone use and the common errors, is documented in Sign in to cloud (optional).

Check your account

The Account group shows who is signed in on this device:

  • Signed out (Standalone) — when nobody is signed in. The app is running fully locally; the Sign in to cloud row is shown right above.
  • Email — the address of the signed-in account.
  • Organization — the name of the organization this device is attached to in the cloud.
  • User ID — a unique identifier for your account. Read this back to support when you report an issue.

There is no avatar, display name, or profile editor here.

See the app version and connection

The App group shows the current state of this device:

  • Version — the build of E-BON installed on this tablet. This is what is actually running, not the latest version available in the Play Store.
  • Offline Mode — shows Inactive when the app has a live link to the fiscal controller, and Active when it doesn't. Active means the app is running without a live connection — not that you turned something off.
  • Network — shows WiFi, Cellular, No Internet, or Unknown depending on the tablet's connection. Unknown is normal for a brief moment right after the app starts.

These three values are read-only. Quote them to support or your installer when something isn't working.

If Offline Mode stays Active or Network shows No Internet, see Troubleshooting.

Switch language

Tap the Language row to flip between Romanian and English. The change takes effect immediately — the value on the right of the row updates to Română or English, and the rest of the app re-renders in the new language. There is no restart and no confirmation prompt.

The language is set per device. It does not change the language of the Portal web app, the receipts printed by your fiscal device, or any other paired tablet.

Change the active location

When you are signed out, the active location is the local sentinel Standalone — everything on this device lives under that name until you decide otherwise. The Location group with a picker only appears after you sign in to the cloud and your organization has at least one real location.

The row shows the name of the active location on the left and Change location on the right. Tap anywhere on the row to open the picker.

The active location decides which devices show up under the Devices tab and which fiscal commands this tablet receives. After you switch, receipts and operations route to the printers attached to the newly selected location.

Open the picker

From Settings → Location, tap the row showing the current location name. The location picker opens.

Pick from the list

The picker shows every location your organization has set up. Each card displays the location's name and, if available, its address.

If the list is still loading you'll see a spinner. If your organization has no locations yet, you'll see No location available — locations are added from the Portal.

Select one

Tap the location card you want. The app saves your choice, registers this tablet against the new location, and returns you to the main tabs. After that, this tablet operates under the location you picked.

Skip the picker with a single location

If your organization has only one location, the picker selects it automatically after a short pause and shows a Selecting automatically... banner. You'll land back on the main tabs without having to tap anything.

Sign out — local data is preserved

Sign Out is the last row on the screen when you are signed in. Tapping it opens a confirmation: Are you sure you want to sign out? with two buttons — Cancel and Sign Out.

Confirming clears the session and returns the device to the Standalone state. The next time you open Settings, the Account group shows Signed out and the Sign in to cloud row is back at the top.

Nothing local is wiped on sign-out. Paired printers, the receipts on this device, the ANAF journal and the X/Z report history all stay exactly where they were. They are flagged as unlinked and keep working locally. The next time you sign in — same account or another — they are re-linked to the organization automatically.
