Open the Home tab

What loads on the Home tab when you open the E-BON Android app — the wordmark, the welcome screen for fresh installs, and the device status card after you pair a fiscal device at the active location.

The Home tab is the first screen you see when you open the app. It is intentionally a thin landing screen: a wordmark, a one-line subtitle, and either a welcome screen (no devices paired at the active location) or a small status card (one or more devices paired). Most of your day is spent on the Devices, Receipts and Settings tabs — Home is here to orient you, surface the two most common first-launch actions, and confirm that the app is alive.

Home does not show a controller status badge, AMEF status, last command, last receipt, last error, offline indicator or per-device tile. Those live on the Devices browser and the per-device detail screen. Home is the orientation card; everything operational is one tab away.

Recognize the Home layout

The screen shows the E-BON wordmark and the subtitle Fiscal Engine at the top, then branches based on whether any device is paired at your currently selected location:

  • If no device is paired at the active location, the app shows the welcome screen (described below).
  • If at least one device is paired at the active location, the app shows the status card (described further down).

The same paired-device list powers both this screen and the Devices tab — what counts as "paired" here is identical to what shows up there. Both are filtered by your active location (see App settings & location switching).

Pair your first device from the welcome screen

Until you pair at least one fiscal device at the active location, Home shows a welcome card with two action buttons:

  • Add Device (primary) — opens the Device Discovery screen. This is the same entry point as tapping the + button on the Devices tab. From there you can scan over Bluetooth, scan the network, or enter connection details by hand. The pairing flow takes over once you pick a device.
  • Create Test Receipt (secondary) — opens the New Receipt screen. Useful for trying out the receipt builder before a printer is wired up; nothing prints until a device is actually connected.

Below the two buttons, the welcome copy reads:

Welcome to E-BON

Connect a fiscal device at this location to start printing receipts, or create a test receipt to explore.

Read the status card after pairing

When at least one device is paired at the active location, the welcome screen collapses and a single status card replaces it. The card has two stacked rows:

  • A Status label (small caps, secondary text colour)
  • A status value rendered in the destructive accent colour
In the current build, the status value on Home is fixed and reads No device connected even when devices are paired. For a real-time picture of which device is online, busy, in warning, in error or offline, switch to the Devices tab — every card there shows the live status badge for that device.

The Home tab does not currently render a per-device tile, the location label, or the offline-mode indicator. The location label and the offline indicator both live on the Settings screen; the per-device tile lives on the Devices tab.

Use the quick actions

The two quick actions are the only navigation points wired into Home:

ActionOpensWhen it's available
Add DeviceDevice Discovery screenOnly while the welcome screen is showing
Create Test ReceiptNew Receipt screenOnly while the welcome screen is showing

There is no Issue Receipt, X report, Z report or Open drawer button on Home. Those operations live on the Device detail → Operations tab and are documented in Daily operations.
